Sarah Bach, Soprano



    Fall 2016 ~ Concerts are in the planning stages and will be announced in the next month.

    Winter 2013 ~ The Arabella Ensemble of Boston will offer "The 12 Days of Bach!" with the full ensemble in December 2014 at two locations, The Swedenborgian Church of Cambridge and the Shirley Meetinghouse.

    Spring 2013 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach and Collaborative Pianist Emily Murphy will give a recital based on Willa Cather's book, "The Song of the Lark" at Northern Arizona University in June 2013. The pre-recital lecture will be offered by musicologist and Cather Scholar, Dr. David Porter.

    Winter 2012 ~ The Arabella Ensemble of Boston will offer "The 12 Days of Bach!" with the full ensemble in January 2013 in the historic 1717 Meetinghouse of West Barnstable, MA. This program will be presented in Boston in their next season.

    Spring 2012 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach and Collaborative Pianist Emily Murphy will present a recital at Smith College in June 2012.

    October 2011 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach will be performing on the upcoming Faculty Recital Series at Boston University performing works of composer Rodney Lister. Other artists include Penelope Bitzas, mezzo-soprano; James Demler, baritone; Jim Petosa, narrator; Charles Blandy, tenor; Martin Near, countertenor; and Rebecca Fischer, violin.     October 2011 ~ A review for the Milton Babbitt Memorial Concert was posted by the Boston Musical Intelligencer which can be read via www.classical-scene.com. "...the performance of Du by Sarah Bach and Rodney Lister was so well-executed that it generated a certain appeal on a separate plane than that of the structural organization—a phenomenon not uncommon to Babbitt’s music."

    September 2011 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach along with NEC faculty members D'Anna Fortunato, John Ziarko, and Rodney Lister, who chairs the composition program of NEC's Preparatory School will perform a memorial concert for composer Milton Babbitt. Click here to read more about the composer and the upcoming concert. Speakers include Malcolm Peyton of the NEC faculty, Martin Boykan, David Rakowski '80, Joshua Rifkin, and Lewis Lockwood.

    May 2011 ~ Upcoming engagements include a Faculty concert at Greenwood Music Camp in the Berkshires and a recital in Boston at St. John the Evanegelist with the Arabella Ensemble.     February 2011 ~ the Arabella Ensemble will be performing at the Historic Highfield Hall in April with violinist Sara Matayoshi to raise money for two organizations in New Orleans helping to rebuild homes in the lower 9th ward. Please check the Engagement Diary for more information.

    March 2010 ~ The Arabella Ensemble will perform for the Willa Cather Foundation's International Seminar at Smith College in June 2011. Please check the Engagement Diary for more information.

    August 2010 ~ Music at Eden's Edge: The energy and vitality of the Baroque dance forth in rarely heard music of Uccellini and Rebel (Caractères de la danse); leap with fiery virtuosity in La Follia by Vivaldi; gesture colorfully in Spanish dances of L’Espagnole, from Les Nations by Couperin. Secular cantatas by Händel and Vivaldi, with 2010 Emerging Artist at the Edge soprano Sarah Bach, and a suite by Boismortier for solo cello – all performed on period instruments – round out this charming offering.     February 2010 ~ Arabella Ensemble is preparing for their engagement in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the 400th Anniversary. A special concert series has been planned for the anniversary year and Emily Murphy and Sarah Bach will head to NM in April to perform for one of the recitals.     December 2009 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach has been chosen by Music at Eden's Edge to be their Emerging Artist at the Edge for 2010. Please check the Engagement Diary for more information.

    Fall 2009 ~ Duo Inspiré has changed its name to Arabella Ensemble and its website address has changed from www.duoinspire.com to www.arabellaensemble.com. Please be patient as we transition from the old website to the new.

    September 2009 ~ Photos have been added to the Photo Gallery from the Vancouver International Song Insitute.

    May 2009 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach along with her newly founded women's quartet will sing for the Vesper Service of the Supreme Council 33° Annual Session of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Northen Masonic Jurisdiction USA in August 2009.     March 2009 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach and Collaborative Pianist Emily Murphy have received early acceptance to the Vancouver International Song Institute which will take place at the University of British Columbia in Canada from June 7 - 21, 2009.     January 2009 ~ Baroque violinist Juan Carlo Zamudio will participate in Sarah Bach's MM recital which has been rescheduled for February 8, 2009 at 7 p.m. Please check the Engagement Diary for more information.

    January 2009 ~ Due to a blizzard hitting the NE area, Soprano Sarah Bach's recital was canceled and she will now give her master's recital in early February. Please check the Engagement Diary for more information.

    November 2008 ~ Soprano Sarah Bach will give her master's recital in December with the assistance of her duo partner, pianist Emily Murphy, trumpeter Ken Jones, harpsichordist Anna Avetisyan, Baroque cellist Rebecca Shaw, violinist Sophia Yurina, sopranos Amy Scheid and Shilpa Sharma, and mezzo-soprano Christine Duncan.     October 1, 2006 ~ Ensemble International de la Joie de la Musique will make its U.S. debut in a series of recitals in November (12, 17, 18) in the towns of Chatham, Falmouth, Sandwich and West Barnstable, Massachusetts.

    July 3, 2006 ~ Sarah Bach will make an appearance with international concert organist Douglas Bruce (Switzerland) in October 2006 for the West Parish Organ Recital Series.
